Art With No Boundaries eZine

This is the cover page of  the Premier issue Art With No Boundaries Magazine/ ezine, full of some beautiful  works of art and; lots of inspiration too.  You can check it out right here:
 Art With No Boundaries
This one is referred to as the mini version with the full version coming in January, can't wait for the full one if this is what is referred to as mini.

I love that it has a clean laid out, a large variety with even some digi instructions, the perfect place for paper crafters.

First Art Journal

I've had this journal for years finally I've actually began to add some color.  The doll on the cover is a digi from             CS Designs  I find this lady's art work amazing, I love the faces of her characters. This is my very first art doll, being impatient I kind of rushed her along.  Below is the inside cover still to be finished.

All coloring was done with distress inks  Stamps used Tim Holtz, Magenta, Serendipity & Stampers Anonymous.

Colorful Opposites

Geesh been ages since I've put anything on here but I made up for it today.  I'm taking an online class called Kick Start which is giving me so much inspiration and so many ideas.

I got this idea from Shari Carroll doing the white outline, both my pens are dry on the left I used partially the dry pen, a little white acrylic paint on the right I used white enamel.  The backgrounds were done using distress inks as well as the stamped & punched images.

Wild Honey, Fire Brick Red, Peeled Paint, Broken China

Colorful Birds

These were all colored with Distress markers.  Here I challenged myself to choose a pattern ribbon and using the colors for this card.

A Fall Card

Playing around with distress inks & perfect pearls.  I challenged myself with the colors on the ribbon.

Butterflies Imagination

My new stamps arrived & I finally found time to play with Nature's Discovery, too fun, I just love these butterflies.

I colored the stamps with my distress markers, used Archival for the sentiment, a little sponging around the edges.

Little Chicadee

This is my first LaBlanche stamp, it was just crying to be inked up with my Distress markers, this is the outcome.  These stamps are on white silicone so you can actually see your colors mixing on the stamp itself.  The little Chickadee is layered on top.

I waited a very long time for these markers but now that I've been playing they were well worth the wait.

Recycled Tag with Flowers

This is my tag for the challenge at Studio L3's, Compendium of Curiosities Vol 2,  challenge #8.  To play along follow the technique on page 62 of Compendium of Curiosities, Volume II, you can purchase your copy HERE

My tag has 3 layers, the top layer is repurposed/recycled packaging, dry embossed, the butterflies & flowers are also re purposed/recycled, a little thinner material I was able to punch.  The flowers & butterflies were colored with alcohol inks, I have matching red fingers.

My 2nd layer is sponged, 3rd is black linen cs.

Friends

I was playing with my distress markers, coloring the stamp, huffing & stamping on water color paper, the sky was done using stormy sky marker & a water brush. The blue layer is again water color paper done with the Stormy Sky marker & watered down with a spritz & a brush.

Stamps:  Urban Tapestry, Tim Holtz.  Mouse is from Magenta.  The cat is unknown.

Shattered Stained Fanciful Flight

When I bought this die I had no idea it cut so many pieces but it's so worth it.  First I crackled the bottom pieces then added various colors of distress stains, I sponged walnut on the top wings, then I covered the entire butterfly with glossy accents.

The 2 pics were taken outside, the top one is on the glass patio table, showing the reflection of the deck cover,  the bottom is in the same place but on a sheet of cream card stock.

Time is Ticking

This is my card for the Simon Says challenge, One for the Boys.

I stamped, then spritzed my background, then sponged various distress inks, embossed umbrella man & gears. I stamped the clock with Archival ink, covered it with glossy accents adding a couple of spinners.  The jeep was inked with various inks then covered with crackle, the umbrella is made from grunge, cut & embossed.

A Kaleidoscope of Color & Flowers

I made this tag to enter the challenge at Simon Says Stamps, A Kaleidoscope of Color!and I'm also entering at Inspiration Emporium's challenge  of Flowers.

I used Distress stains with Picket Fence for my background, Cricut cut my butterflies, vase, water pail, stamp is from Hero Arts, punched the flowers in the vase.  I colored & spritzed my ribbons with water but not showing too well, embossed the background with my Big Kick.

Dabber Resist

This is my entry for a CC101 group challenge called dabber resist.  I only have one dabber, bought it on sale long time ago, at least I know they don't dry out.

Supplies used:  Sticky back canvas, Distress inks, distress stains, denim dabber, a few gems, punched butterflies and ribbons.  The bird is from the Urban Tapestry set.

Compendium of Curiosities II Challenge 4

This is my entry for the 4th challenge of Compendium of Curiosities II over at Studio L3 on page 43.  If you'd like a copy of  Tim Holtz's book you can order an autographed copy here.

I'm in love with Umbrella Man, I don't have my die cut or stamp yet, (they are on the way) so I used my embossing folder, cutting him out then colored in black with a marker.  My first attempt at this technique, I just noticed I should have left the birds without eyes, boy did I get these wrong eh.....

Playing with Crackle

I have so been waiting for my order with Rangers Crackle to arrive but found the large bottle at my local stamp store 1/2 hour away.  Talk about another addiction eh.

This stuff is way too much fun and I just can't stop.

Everything you see here is crackled, some thick, some thin, still trying to find the right amount to apply but dang this is fun.

Challenge 1 - Tim Holtz Vol II

My book arrived yesterday so finally I could post my first challenge using the technique on page 66.  I'd been reading other blogs and figured it had something to do with creating custom foam stamps, so I was practicing waiting for my book to arrive and this is what I came up with.

Here is the link to the challenge at Studio L3 .  It is being sponsored by Simon Says

If you don't have Tim's book you can purchase it here

I used the bird from the Urban Tapestry set for my foam stamp along with various Distress Inks.

Trust Your Crazy Ideas

I took the CC101 class with Tim Holtz as the instructor thinking I had not one Tim stamp, well I found out I did have one I bought about 5 years ago.  I only found out yesterday it was a Tim Holtz stamp when looking to see who made it. "Trust your crazy ideas" is my Tim stamp used along with his Urban Tapestry set.  After sponging & stamping with  various distress inks, I sprayed a little gold Perfect Pearls

Bird on a Branch

CC101 ended a few weeks ago now but I just can't stop playing with my distress inks, too fun & too many techniques.

I did this one using Urban Tapestry stamps, a gorgeous set too.  I ran wax paper through an embossing folder with my big kick, then ironed the wax paper sandwiched between 2 pieces of cs.  I then sponged various blue distress inks, sponging a little brown around the edges.

Attitude

I got this idea from Gina K at Stamp TV.  I ran a piece of waxed paper in an embossing folder through my big kick, then sandwiched the wax paper between 2 pieces of  Pure Luxury cs & Ironed them.  The wax paper acts as a resist, I then sponged various distress inks to the cs.  I could see the details of the embossing folder so decided to emboss again using the same folder, then went around the edges with a light brown.  The little lady is from KK Originals, had her for years now, one of my favs.

Coloring Glitter with Copics

I received this card from a good friend of mine & I was so loving it I had to give this technique a try too.

Here is my first attempt, I stamped the butterfly on sticky back acetate, sprinkled liberally with glitter, then rubbed it with my finger making it smooth, stamped the butterfly coloring with my Copics.  I did have to go over the stamped image with a marker as the lines were disappearing.  I adhered the acetate to my oval, added a little glossy accents, that's it.

This was my second attempt, I think I like doing this technique best with the stickers and it sure is a fun one even with the glitter flying everywhere.

A Few Distress Cards

These 3 cards are what I"ve done with some of my "home work" assignments from the Creative Chemistry 101.  I was working large label size, then cut them down to card size.

I'm still waiting for my order of Distress Markers, 2 months now, & more stains, I only have 4 & more inks.

This first one was done with Distress Stains including Picket Fence.  I inked up the background stamp with Picket Fence then the female was stamped using Versafine Archival.

I'll admit to my faux pas, I stamped the woman before I stamped the white words so then the words were all over her, so I stamped her a second time doing pretty good I think.

For this one I inked the 2 3/4  x 5 1/2 cs with distress ink, then flicked, rubbed some embossing powder off before heating, embossed the entire piece going over it with a sponge & a brown Distress ink.  I stamped using Stazon white, & black inks.
I don't usually do tags but I do have a tag stamp.  This was done putting various distress inks to cs, then flicking some perfect pearls on top & brushing them around.
